“My future plans are to go to college and to stay out of trouble and to not come back to jail, and to get a job” – a young offender reflecting on a Reflex programme
“I know and admire the work of Reflex. All over in Britain Reflex are helping to transform the lives of young people. Their innovative programmes empower young people to gain new skills and qualifications, inspiring creativity in their lives and changing the way they think and behave. Whether they are running a rap workshop in a prison or finding adult mentors for vulnerable young people, Reflex programmes are instrumental in breaking the cycle of youth crime. For these reasons I offer them my full support and warmly advocate their work to you.” – Jonathan Aitken
“We have noticed a marked improvement in the attitude and behaviour of our prisoners. Group dynamics and inter-personal skills have improved. The number of incidents on the unit has reduced dramatically, control and restraint is rarely used and fights between prisoners are now usually arguments as opposed to physical violence.” – Young Offender Manager, HMP Styal

Reflex have undergone a rigorous external examination. The report, produced by the Evaluation Trust, was commissioned by the Arts Council England to assess the educational and artistic merit of Reflex award winning Urban Skillz programmes.
The report draws evidence from key stakeholders and young people from programmes run in 2010.
